Llandrindod Wells Victorian FestivalLlandrindod Wells Victorian Festival takes place every August and runs for 9 days. This Victorian Spa Town holds themed events and street entertainment with many people wearing Victorian Costume. The Festival closes with a fabulous firework display over the lake.

Llanwrtyd Wells Unusual Events

Llanwrtyd Wells is famous for its unusual events which take place every Summer. The Man versus Horse Race – a gruelling 22 mile marathon where runners and horses compete against each other.

World Mountain Bog Snorkelling Championships World Mountain Bog Snorkelling Championships competitors cycle 2 lengths of a channel cut in the bog using snorkels. World Bog Snorkelling Championships competitors swim a 60 metre trench dug into the bog using snorkel and flippers.

The Royal Welsh Showground

royal welsh showThe Royal Welsh Show Ground in Builth Wells holds many events throughout the year including Dog Shows, Bee-keepers Conventions, Mountain Bike Events, Horse Show/Sales, Antiques and Collectors Fair and Sheep sales. The main events being the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show held during July, the Royal Welsh Small Holders Show held in May and the Royal Welsh Agricultural Winter Fair held at the end of November.
